Sometimes small things do make differences, and we are excited to share our latest small enhancement to our website, which will make a difference.
When you are posting a garage sale event (or yard sale, moving sale, estate sale, bazaars, rummage sale, or a community event) in our website, the very first thing that you have to fill out is the dates of the event.
When you place your cursor on the date fields, we have a very nice looking calendar that pops down so you can easily pick the date of the event. (see screenshot of the calendar below)
I'm not sure if you noticed but our calendar is different from a traditional calendar... which is that the day of the week starts with Monday rather than Sunday in our calendar.
We can easily display our calendar to start the week with Sunday but this design is actually intentional because of the nature of garage sales, where most of the garage sales end on Sunday.
Having said that, we recently had a user post a Sunday garage sale event but the date selected from the calendar was Monday. This mistake was clearly due to the fact that this person was so used to a calendar that starts with Sunday as the first day of week.
While this mistake seems so small and may not make much of a difference as long as the actual dates are included in the content body of the posting, it is actually a big deal because that garage sale would not be shown under the "THIS WEEK" tab but rather displayed under the "NEXT WEEK+" tab.
Therefore, in order to reduce this type of mistake, we are now displaying the day of the week below the selected dates as a confirmation.
We hope you will like this feature as much as we do! Cheers
